A modern build approach that fits rural realities
Vermont faces a growing challenge: the cost and complexity of building homes has risen faster than incomes, while skilled labor has become increasingly scarce. Community-scale residential projects often struggle under a system that was never designed for efficiency.
Tuckerman Hill was founded to address that problem.
We focus on thoughtful planning, efficient building systems, and modern delivery methods that reduce risk, and make well-built housing more attainable.
Why We Exist
Traditional construction works — but it is often fragmented, unpredictable, and expensive. For small projects in rural areas, this can mean:
Unclear feasibility
Escalating costs
Schedule uncertainty
Heavy dependence on multiple subcontractors
Rework caused by coordination gaps
We believe many of these problems can be solved through better planning, tighter integration, and smarter construction methods.
Tuckerman Hill exists to apply those ideas locally.
Vision
Tuckerman Hill is building toward a new model of community-scale residential development in Northern Vermont.
In collaboration with TMBR, we are working to bring advanced digital modeling, engineered mass timber systems, and integrated delivery tools into local construction.
These tools allow:
One coordinated digital model guiding design and installation
Pre-engineered components that reduce on-site work
More predictable assembly workflows
Shorter schedules and clearer budgeting
The goal is not novelty — it is certainty.
We believe manufacturing precision and thoughtful integration can meaningfully improve how housing is delivered in rural communities.
What We Build
Today, our initial focus includes:
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
Small, efficient residential projects
Attainable, high-quality homes for middle-income households
We aim to deliver projects that are:
Durable and high-performance
Architecturally thoughtful
Attainable in price
Built with a disciplined, integrated process
About Evan
Tuckerman Hill is led by Evan Oleson.
Evan’s experience includes both managing local development projects, and a focus on solving real construction constraints — cost, labor, and complexity — through better systems and clearer planning.
Looking Ahead
Housing demand in Northern New England is not going away.
Meeting it responsibly requires new methods — not just more of the same.
Tuckerman Hill is working to create a scalable, integrated approach to residential development that reduces uncertainty and delivers durable, well-designed housing to the region.
We are not just building projects.
We are refining how projects are delivered.
